I've been thinking about this post for a while, but I've been so busy running (ha ha) that I haven't had a chance to sit down and write it. I was actually inspired while I was running with a friend a couple weeks ago. She is oily too and we were chatting about the oils that we've used with success after working out. It made me think about the many radical products offered by Young Living that would be great before, during, and after a workout. Keep in mind that these are just the items that I use personally and can give you personal testimonials about.
Before Your Workout
BLM - This supplement comes in both a capsule and powder form and supports healthy Bones, Ligaments, and Muscles. Its ingredients include Potassium, Glucosamine, Collagen, and a blend of essential oils. I love it because I have one knee that isn't the best, and since I have added this supplement to the mix, I don't feel like my knee is going to give out on me.
Balance Complete - One of my favorite products! Balance Complete is a powder that you can add to water, milk, or use to make a meal replacement shake. I like to replace a meal a day with it when I know that I will be running because it packed with vitamins and nutrients. It also taste great, and isn't all chalky like a lot of protein powders tend to be.
NingXia Nitro - I stated using this product just by chance. It was offered as a free promotion one month and honestly has sat in my fridge for probably 3 months. I had heard a lot of great reviews about it, but I drink coffee in the morning and didn't really have a need for an added energy boost. That is until I started running in the evenings. Well, its an absolute life saver and amazing pick me up. I take a tube with me and drink it right before I start my run and not only does it give me a great burst of energy, it gives me the mental focus to push myself toward whatever mile goal I have set out to complete.
En-R-Gee Essential Oil Blend - I first bought this oil because I am fairly sleep deprived with a 6 month old at home. I have absolutely fallen in love with it and especially the smell. It is a blend of: Rosemary, Juniper, Lemongrass, Nutmeg, Idaho Balsam Fir, Clove, and Black Pepper. This oil promotes mental clarity, alertness, strengthens the mind (for that long run), and energy.
During Your Workout
Peppermint Essential Oil - Peppermint oil is one of those amazing oils that has about 101 uses. Just one of those uses is giving a little boast while working out. I like to drop a little in my hands to inhale just before I plan to work out.
After Your Workout
Lemon Essential Oil - I try my best to drink water while working out, but as soon as I walk in the door from a run I like to down a giant glass of water with a couple drops of lemon oil. It's great at detoxifying fat cells. It also tastes amazing and is exactly what I crave after a good run.
Ortho Sport Massage Oil - This a blend of Coconut Oil, Grape Seed Oil, and essential oils that create a warming sensation on sore and achy muscles.
PanAway Essential Oil Blend - The great thing about using Young Living Essential Oils is there are so many options! It's just about finding what works best with your body. PanAway is an essential oil blend that includes wintergreen, clove, peppermint, and helichrysum and is another great option for those sore muscles. I like to add a few drops to coconut oil to use as a rub on my sore legs.
Deep Relief Roll On - The last oil I want to talk about is Deep Relief. This is another blend made by Young Living that can ease muscle aches and pains. Deep relief already comes in a convenient roller ball bottle. I like to keep it in my purse for ease of use. This blend has clove, vetiver, helichrysum, peppermint, Idaho Balsam Fir, Palo Santo, Wintergreen, Lemon, and Copaiba.
